The Desert

19

if there’s no water in the desert

at least i have a bottle in my hand

if the desert is barren and dusty

there’s an oasis where shades are abundant

.

changing shapes, heights and slopes

tiny fragments and rubble strewn

over the dry plain desert floor

 particles of sand and dust

are carried aloft in storms

.

large weathering variations

of day and night temperatures

downpour over hot rocks

cause them to shatter

.

remnants and debris

into smaller particles

are eroded further

whisked away by the wind…
